Larry N. Dean, B.S.
Senior Biologist
Mr. Dean has more than 30 years of extensive experience in natural resources management and has been formally trained in program and project management of federal, state and local projects. He is an experienced field biologist with areas of specialization in Global Information Systems Data Management and Project Management. He has successfully overseen the management of more than 50 projects for State and local agencies involving work on numerous military bases in southern California, as well as for the Sempra Energy Company.
His field experience includes: small mammal studies; herpetological surveys; biological monitoring; soil ecology; tree disease surveys; invertebrate community analysis and identification; plant community identification; bird surveys; and laboratory studies with microbial species. Most recently, he has ensured proposed projects are compliant with the Western Riverside County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP) and the MHPA in San Diego County, prior to project approval. As a Senior Biologist with BFSA, some of his responsibilities include biological assessments and surveys; project management; client consultation with regard to the MSHCP and the MHPA, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA--as it pertains to biological resources); and the design and implementation of various revegetation/restoration projects. He is also primarily responsible for coordinating and overseeing our biological projects that involve any and all biological subcontractors.
